India’s coal sector achieved a remarkable milestone in the first quarter of FY 2023-24, by recording highest ever coal production at 223.36 million tonne (MT), representing a substantial growth of 8.55% compared to the production of 205.76 MT during the same period during FY 2022-23.
Today, Official Twitter Account of Ministry of Coal tweeted, “In the first quarter of FY 2023-24, the Ministry of Coal achieved its highest ever coal production, reaching a remarkable 223.36 Million Tonnes. There is adequate coal availability in the country.”
Union Minister of Coal and Mines Pralhad Joshi also tweeted, “Highest-ever overall coal production in the First Quarter. An 8.5% growth over last year has helped in registering 223 MT coal production in the Q1 of FY 2023-24. This will ensure sufficient coal availability in the country during the ongoing monsoons.”
