In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Police today raided the house and office of a Hurriyat and Jamat-e-Islami leader, who has been detained in a Hawala money case involving ex-Minister Babu Singh.
AIR correspondent reports that the Police team has recovered some incriminating material related to the Jamat-e-Islami (JeI) during the raids. The Police raided the house and office of the leader at Dalpatian Mohalla and Talab Khatikan areas of Jammu’s old city.
The accused has already been detained by Police in a Hawala money case involving former Minister Babu Singh. Singh was arrested on 9th of April after remaining absconding since March 31 when one Shareef Sartaj from Anantnag district was arrested by the Police in Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu along with nearly seven lakh rupees. Singh’s name had surfaced during the Anantnag man’s questioning.
