According to media sources, In Manipur, the National Conference on Implications of Climate Change & Conservation of Natural Resources and Cultural Heritage 2025 begins at the Auditorium of Manipur University. The conference is jointly organised by different educational institutes and government agencies.
Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla graced the inaugural function of the conference. Speaking at the event, the Governor said that the impact of climate change is one of the most pressing global challenges of our time, not only to our natural ecosystem but also to our rich cultural heritage. He said that the Government of India and the State Government are working together and taking proactive steps to mitigate the effects of climate change in Manipur.
Shri Bhalla also appealed to the students to acknowledge the impact of climate change and to act as ambassadors to carry the message of conserving natural resources so as to develop a sustainable future.
The Governor also inspected the various facilities at the Department of Botany of Manipur University.
