“Happy to launch the Water Smart Kids Meghalaya, a school campaign under Jal Jeevan Mission of @MoJSDoWRRDGR. With the objective to inspire action and educate our children in water conservation and protection of our water bodies, the campaign will encourage them to become Water Conservation Ambassadors in their community.
Today we also awarded the Water Guardians i.e villages and community members for their innovative and inspiring efforts in conservation of water bodies. Congratulations to Lumshyiap VWSC of Ri Bhoi District, Darechikgre VWSC of West Garo Hills District and Dura Kantragre VWSC of West Garo Hills District.
Through community participation in the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission, Meghalaya is already leading the way as a top performer in the scheme nationwide and with the participation of school students, our approach towards sustainable water conservation is further empowered. I applaud PHE Department and team @jjmmeghalaya for their relentless efforts in meeting our targets. We have come a long way from 4500 FHTCs in 2018 to 4.03 Lakh FHTCs to date. I congratulate them and wish them the very best as they continue their efforts to achieve our 100% FHTCs target.”
