MIB Explores Official Recognition for Digital Creators, Highlights Role in Public Advocacy

According to media sources, The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is exploring ways to officially recognise digital creators, especially YouTubers with large followings who advocate public causes, MIB Secretary Sanjay Jaju said at the 3rd Digital Democracy Dialogue in Panaji today. He emphasised their growing role in promoting government initiatives and noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi considers them cultural ambassadors spreading India’s heritage globally.

Mr Jaju highlighted key Waves initiatives, including the Create in India Challenge, which showcases the creative potential of Indian talent. He also announced the upcoming Indian Institute of Creative Technologies, which will offer skill development programs to help creators adapt to the evolving digital landscape. The Secretary said, platforms like Wavex and Waves Bazaar will support creators in scaling their work, reinforcing India’s leadership in the global digital space.
