According to media sources, Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat today said that the song Vande Mataram played a significant role in uniting the people to free the country from the shackles of slavery and achieve independence. Interacting with the media at Vande Mataram Exhibition in New Delhi, Mr. Shekhawat said that the tune of Vande Mataram became the collective mantra of the country’s freedom movement.
The Minister also inaugurated the exhibition. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release commemorative coins and postage stamps tomorrow. Mr Shekhawat added that this will mark the start of a series of events that will take place throughout the year. The Minister said that the exhibition that was unveiled today will be arranged in a way that it reaches people across the country.
