Maharashtra: Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Favnavis along with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Delegation of Executive Directors of the World Bank. Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis twitted “Very successful meeting with a Power-Packed Delegation of Executive Directors of the World Bank! Along with CM Eknath Shinde ji, we were elated to welcome, meet and have a discussion with a power packed delegation of 12 Executive Directors of World Bank representing around 100 countries. We welcome you to Maharashtra – the business gateway of India !
Spoke about important and ambitious projects like river linking & flood water diversion from water abundant to water scarce, parched areas.
Flood waters from Western Maharashtra will be stopped from flowing into Arabian Sea & diverted to drought prone Vidarbha & Marathwada. This will help make Maharashtra drought-free.
Another important project is energy transition. The time now is opportune & we can bring about the energy transition and we are aiming to transfer around 17,000 MW to solar energy. Other key points like how Maharashtra is first state to create green hydrogen policy, pumped storage plant, infra projects, Nanaji Deshmukh Krushi Sanjivani Prakalp, EVs, market linkage for farmers, economic growth, trillion dollar economy, poverty alleviation, increasing farmers income were discussed too.
We are very happy to collaborate and work with World Bank as working with world bank brings in lot of knowledge, best practices, technologies, systems , processes on table.
We are eager to work with WorldBank more closely. Look forward to closer bonds and more knowledge sharing !”
