According to media sources, In Nagaland, farmers witnessed the release of the 20th instalment of the PM Kisan scheme at various places.
Advisor for Agriculture Mhathung Yanthan joined the nationwide launch from Naga United Village, Chümoukedima at the state-level telecast jointly organized with ICAR Jharnapani.
Mr Yanthan said, so far, 2.38 lakh farmers from Nagaland have benefited under the scheme, receiving a total of more than 680 crore rupees. With the latest instalment, over 40 crore has been credited to the accounts of farmers in the state, he added.
The Advisor asserted that the continued support under PM-KISAN reflects the government’s commitment to farmer welfare and strengthening of rural livelihoods.
The event at Chümoukedima was attended by farmers, scientists, department officials and local leaders.
In Peren district, the programme on “Farmers Day celebration cum Release of 20th Instalment of PM-KISAN scheme” was conducted by ICAR-KVK, Peren and ATMA Nagaland at Jalukie in the presence of 137 farmers.
KVK Zunheboto Nagaland University also conducted screening of the PM Kisan Nidhi program during the release of the 20th Instalment.
