PM Modi to embark on five-nation tour

According to media sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a five-nation visit to Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia beginning Wednesday. Addressing a special media briefing in New Delhi, Secretary, Economic Relations in the External Affairs Ministry, Dammu Ravi said, the Prime Minister will undertake a visit to Ghana from 2nd to 3rd of next month on the first leg of his five-nation tour. He said, this will be his first ever bilateral visit to Ghana and the Prime Minister will hold talks with the President of Ghana. He said, both the nations will review the strong bilateral partnership and discuss further avenues to enhance economic, energy, and defence collaboration, and development cooperation partnership.

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Brazil, Mr. Ravi said, the 17th BRICS Summit will be held on 6th to 7th July in Rio de Janeiro. He said, the theme of the Rio Summit is Strengthening Global South Cooperation for Inclusive and Sustainable Governance. During the Summit, Mr. Modi will exchange views on key global issues including reform of global governance, peace and security, strengthening multilateralism, responsible use of artificial intelligence, climate action, global health, economic and financial matters. He is also likely to hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Summit. Mr. Modi will travel to Brasilia where he will hold bilateral discussions with President Lula on the broadening of the Strategic Partnership between the two countries in areas of mutual interest, including trade, defence, energy, space, technology, agriculture, health and people-to-people linkages.

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Namibia, Mr. Ravi said, Mr. Modi will visit Namibia on 9th July and this is an important visit to deepen bilateral economic relations. He said, both countries share a very strong relationship.
In the second leg of his visit, Mr. Modi will pay an official visit to Trinidad and Tobago from 3rd to 4th July. During the visit, Mr. Modi will hold talks with the President of Trinidad and Tobago, Christine Carla Kangaloo, and Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar. The Prime Minister is also expected to address a Joint Session of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago.
In the third leg of his visit, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Argentina from 4th to 5th July. The Prime Minister is expected to hold bilateral talks with President Milei. Both leaders will review ongoing cooperation and discuss ways to further enhance India-Argentina partnership in key areas including defence, agriculture, mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, trade and investment.
