According to the media sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the meeting of members of the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) on Tuesday. This was PM Modi’s first address to ruling party MPs in the Parliament session, after he won the record third term as Prime Minister. The Prime Minister told the NDA MPs to follow rules of the House while speaking in the Parliament.
Gandhi launched a no-holds-barred attack on the BJP in the Lok Sabha, saying the leaders of the ruling party are not Hindus as they engage in “violence and hate” round the clock, drawing massive protests from the treasury benches, with Modi accusing the Congress leader of calling the entire Hindu community violent. These remarks, however, were expunged from record.
As per the reports, The PM is also expected to speak in the Lok Sabha during the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address at 4 pm on July 2, Tuesday. The Prime Minister’s speech comes a day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s maiden speech as Leader of Opposition in the lower House of Parliament launching a scathing attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The ongoing Lok Sabha session, the first of the newly-elected house, that started on June 24, is expected to run till July 3.
Speaking in Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav said he won’t trust EVMs even if his party won all 80 seats from Uttar Pradesh. Yadav also attacked the BJP-led NDA government over Agnipath, NEET-UG row and other paper leak issues. The spar between the ruling and opposition leaders assumes significance as the BJP has lost the majority in the Lok Sabha for the first time in ten years and thus relies on its allies for being in power.
