According to media sources, President Droupadi Murmu arrived at Bhubaneswar this evening on a two-day visit to her home state Odisha. The President was accorded a warm welcome by the Governor of Odisha Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and other senior dignitaries at the Biju Patnaik International Airport. A large number of folk dancers and cultural troupes greeted the President as she was moving towards the Raj Bhawan where the President will make a night halt today. The President is scheduled to attend the valedictory function of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention tomorrow. About 6,000 Non-Resident Indians from about 75 countries have been participating in the Convention, jointly organised by the Government of India and Odisha Government at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar since yesterday. She will also confer the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards to 17 distinguished members of the Indian diaspora for their excellence in different fields.
