Rajasthan: As per the media reports One of the 15 officials trapped in Hindustan Copper Limited’s Kolihan mine in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district feared dead of serious injuries on Wednesday. Another 14 members, including members of the Kolkata Vigilance Team, were rescued after an overnight operation by the police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
As per the reports, the officials, including members of a team from Hindustan Copper Limited, were trapped in the mine after a lift used to transport workers collapsed on Tuesday night. The overnight rescue operation led to the rescue operation at a 577-metre mine in the Kolihan mine. The personnel trapped in the depths were pulled out. After being rescued, three seriously injured people were taken to a hospital in Jaipur. Some officials have fractured their hands and some have fractured their legs. Everyone is safe. The rescue operation was done with the help of ladders.
As per the reports the incident occurred when the vigilance team along with senior officials of the company had gone down the shaft for inspection. When they were about to come up, the rope of the shaft or ‘cage’ broke, trapping around 14 officers. Nine ambulances were at the entrance and the rescue operation began on Tuesday night.
