According to media sources, In Uttarakhand, Met Department has issued a warning for heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in several parts of the state today.
A red alert has been issued for very heavy to extremely heavy rain in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, Bageshwar, and Champawat districts.
Additionally, an orange alert is in place for heavy rain in the remaining districts of the state. In view of the heavy rainfall warning, all schools and Anganwadi centers in Dehradun, Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, and Pauri Garhwal have been declared closed today.
Due to continuous rainfall over the past few days, the water levels of major rivers in the state have risen, and streams in hilly areas are in spate.
Landslides at several locations have disrupted road traffic, and efforts are ongoing to clear the roads and restore movement.
