As per the media reports a new wave of Covid-19 is being seen in Singapore. Covid-19 cases are continuously increasing. About 26,000 cases were reported between May 5 and 11.
As per the reports Singapore’s Health Minister Ong Ye Kung has advised to wear masks. The Health Minister urged those who are at greatest risk of serious illness to do so. These include persons aged 60 years and above, medically vulnerable persons and residents of aged care facilities. He asked Singaporeans to wear masks and stay home if they are sick and to get vaccinated. He said it is especially important for senior citizens or people suffering from serious illnesses to get vaccinated once a year as they are more vulnerable to infections. He further said, ‘The capacity of one thousand beds is equal to that of a regional hospital. So I think the healthcare system will have to prepare itself for what is to come.
As per the reports the Ministry of Health (MOH) said the estimated number of Covid-19 cases for the week of May 5 to 11 increased to 25,900, compared to 13,700 cases the previous week. Daily cases of Corona epidemic have increased from 181 to about 250.
