Delhi/Bhopal: Once again Madhya Pradesh recognized with a National award for its Swachhata Drive and awarded as second cleanest State in the Country. Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Hon’ble State Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvarghiya extended their wishes to the people of Madhya Pradesh on the state’s achievement in Swachh Survekshan.
Indore for the 7th warded as the “Cleanest city” of India. 98% of Cities certified as ODF++ and there has been a phenomenal increase in Water + certified cities in the State, from 2 Cities in SS2022 to 7 Cities being certified as Water+ in SS2023.
On 11th January 2024, Hon’ble President of India honor the Cities and States for their performance/achievements in Swachh Survekshan 2023. Along with PS, UDH, Commissioner UADD, State Mission Director SBM-U, the State SBM team to attend the award ceremony.
On 11th January 2024, The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) declared the results of Swachh Survekshan 2023. As per the declared results, Indore, Bhopal, Mhow Cantt., Amarkantak, Nowrozabad and Budhni Cities from Madhya Pradesh recognized with awards on the national forum for their efforts in Swachhata drive.
State has keenly deployed a team of subject matter experts who oversee the overall Swachh Survekshan and Waste management infrastructure design and operations. A dedicated team of 35 members work on this around the clock.
Some of the team members’ names who played a phenomenal role in the overall success of the state are Kartikey Tiwari, Kanakeshwar Kanakraj Devangan, Romil Jain, Aishwarya Tiwari.
On this award ceremony Hon’ble Minister,Department of Urban Development and Housing Kailash Vijayvarghi, Principle Sec., Department of Urban Development and Housing – Neeraj Mandloi, Commissioner, Urban Administration, and Development- Bharat Yadav, Mission Director, SBM- Urban, Shivam Verma and Joint Director, MPUADD, Himanshu Singh also shared their views and congratulate the state and city level team for their significant efforts.

Principle Sec., Department of Urban Development and Housing – Neeraj Mandloi – We strive to maintain and provide a clean and safe environment. We have invested in maintaining the waste management infra. across cities, capacity building of Cities, and increased public participation vide mass mobilization campaigns. The results published signify the efforts undertaken by our State and City level teams and would like to congratulate all on their success.
Commissioner, Urban Administration, and Development- Bharat Yadav – This year we have tried a new strategy by interacting with officials and providing technical handholding support to cities, day on day basis through VCs and online workshops, for monitoring their field activities and we will continue with this approach going forward also. I would like to congratulate our citizens, RWAs, SHGs, public representatives, and other stakeholders for their continuous cooperation and efforts.
Mission Director, SBM- Urban, Shivam Verma – As a result of our undeterred efforts and focus on Public participation 361 cities of our State have been certified as ODF++, 7 Cities as Water+, and 158 cities as GFC star-rated cities, and going forward this will motivate us to keep up with our Swachhata Drive.
