According to media Indian Army Sources; Tawang Marathon, a mega sporting event was jointly organised by the Indian Army and the Arunachal Pradesh State Government today at Tawang. A first of its kind in the entire Northeast, the event saw enthusiastic participation by the locals and runners from all over the country. The event also had active participation by the teams from the Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and CAPFs. The successful conduct of the Marathon has given a major boost to set up a tradition of many such sporting events annually in the border areas.
