President Ramnath Kovind will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram tonight. Tomorrow morning, the President will inaugurate the first-ever two-day national conference of woman legislators at the Legislature Complex in Thiruvananthapuram. Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan will preside over the function. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Assembly Speaker MB Rajesh, Ministers Veena George, R. Bindu, J. Chinchu Rani, Opposition Leader VD Satheesan and woman MPs and Speakers and Legislators from different States are expected to participate. Later in the evening, the President will proceed to Pune. On Friday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will address the valedictory function. The event is part of the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, which marks the 75th anniversary of independence.
