According to media sources, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has emphasised the importance of reviving ancient knowledge centres in India. Addressing the ceremony marking 75 years of K.P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce in Mumbai, he highlighted eminent educational institutions in the country, such as Odantapuri, Takshashila, Vikramshila, Somapura, Nalanda, and Vallabhi, where scholars from across the world once came to acquire, impart, and exchange knowledge. Mr Dhankhar described the destruction of these renowned institutions as a systematic erasure of centuries of wisdom.
The Vice President further stated that corporate leaders should view investment in education as more than just philanthropy. He stressed that such investment benefits the present and the future, as well as the development of industry, business, and trade in the country. Mr Dhankhar asserted that quality education is a valuable gift and urged collective efforts towards educational excellence. Highlighting the country’s infrastructural growth, deep digitisation, and technological advancement, he remarked that these factors have positioned India as the most aspirational nation in the world today.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Dr Sudesh Dhankhar planted saplings in memory of their late mothers, Smt Kesari Devi Ji and Smt Bhagwati Devi Ji, on the premises of K.P.B. Hinduja College.
