Today, after a nail-biting wait, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) confirmed that Chandrayaan-3’s lander had successfully touched down in the Moon’s southern polar region as planned. “Congratulations ISRO on this historic landing. On this historic moment, CMD of WAPCOS & NPCC, R K Agrawal said “Congratulations to ISRO and India #Chandrayaan3. This is a moment to cherish forever, noting that India has reached the South Pole of the moon, where no country had ventured so far. With this success, India is now fully prepared to touch new heights in the World and ready to set new ambitious targets for the future, hinting at missions seeking to explore the Sun and other planets including Venus.”

WAPCOS Bhopal office has also celebrated the successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon’s south pole. The celebration is witnessed by all the officers along with the allied staff. The Initiative of celebrating together and keeping the spirit high for India is taken up by G S Tiwari, Chief Advisor & accompanied by Ayush Kumar, Deputy Project Manager, Avnish Mishra, Lokesh Mishra, Sandeep Lodhi, Vipin Tiwari, Devendra Sisodiya, Pushparaj Khushwaha, Neelansha, Gunjan, Vaibhavi, Pratibha, Pankaj and other staff. The celebration is ended by chants of ‘Vande Mataram’ echoed through the office and followed by light refreshment for all the staff.
CHANDRAYAAN 3: Cementing India’s status as a global power in space, ISRO scripted history as Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft made a soft landing on the surface of the Moon today evening. With the mission’s success, India has become the first country to land a spacecraft on the lunar’s uncharted territory of south pole and fourth overall to reach on the Moon. The spacecraft’s Vikram lander made the soft landing at 6.04 PM (IST), ending the disappointment over the crash-landing of the Chandrayaan-2 lander four years ago. While congratulating the team of scientists behind the mission, ISRO chief S Somnath said the health of the lander will now be assessed and that rover will come out from the lander module in the next few hours.
