According to media sources, The government today said that Rabi crops have been sown across over 558 lakh hectares. The Agriculture Ministry, in a statement, said that more than 293 lakh hectares of area coverage under wheat have been reported as compared to nearly 284 lakh hectares of area during the corresponding period of last year. Pulses were cultivated across 123.27 lakh hectares while coarse cereals were sown across 38.75 lakh hectares. The area sown with oilseeds reached over 91.60 lakh hectares.
The Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare released the progress report on area coverage under Rabi crops as of today.
